128 bit SSL encryption is the global standard in website security and

How
can I tell a website is secure?
There are two ways to check whether a webpage is secure. First, secure
pages will have a URL that starts with https:// instead of the regular
http://. The "S" indicates that the page is secure. Secure
webpages that ask for your personal and credit card information will
have "https" at the beginning as shown in the image below.

Second,
a secure web page will have a padlock icon on the status bar to indicate
that it is secure. For Microsoft Internet Explorer, secure pages will
have this icon .
Netscape Navigator will have this icon for locked pages
and this icon
for unlocked pages. You
can view the security status of the current webpage by clicking on the
padlock icon.
If your
status bar is not showing you can turn it on by selecting the View Menu
and then Status Bar. A check mark will appear next to the Status Bar
option when it is active.
You can
get the most current information on browser internet security by visiting
Microsoft
or Netscape.
